A Fresno Unified Teacher who taught kindergarten for more than two decades has been arrested on drug charges.

Dorothy Ramirez, 53, was arrested Wednesday with a man who deputies say robbed three men at gunpoint. Detectives also say the longtime teacher at Easterby Elementary had methamphetamines and a weapon on her when she was arrested. Frago was arrested for armed robbery, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana for sales, probation violations, and weapons charges. Ramirez is now facing charges of felony child endangerment since deputies discovered she had drugs and a weapon with her while on campus.

“They learned that Ramirez had the methamphetamine with her, in her purse, in her classroom. Her purse had been there on the floor below her desk — clearly accessible to the children in her class,” said Chris Curtice with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
