Most Unemployed Not Receiving Benefits Anymore

Most of America’s unemployed have been out of work for so long that they no longer qualify to receive unemployment benefits. Last year 75 percent of the unemployed were receiving checks. Today it’s around 48 percent. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has called long-term unemployment a “national crisis”.
