Former Redskins pro football player Fred Smoot said that Gregg Williams shouldn’t be suspended for administering a “bounty” system for the New Orleans Saints. Smoot argued that big hits are part of football. Smoot also said that “bounty” is an unfair word to use, given that the system that he had on his own team was more of a gambling pot among players, rather than a sinister money system.
