Rep. Allen West said he heard that 78 to 80 Democratic members of the US Congress are members of the Communist Party during a town hall meeting. West said this in response to an attendee who asked how many ked him how many “card-carrying Marxists or international socialists” he believed there to be in Congress. He went on to say that these communists are part of the Congressional Progressive Caucus together.
