Kenneth Chamberlain, Jr. talked with Soleded O’Brien about the police incident that took his father’s life in November 2011. Chamberlain said that his father, a 68-year-old veteran, begged police to leave him alone–although they taunted him, called him the N-word, and eventually killed him. Chamberlain said that he hesitated to make this a racial issue until his father was called the slur.
