Ledet Rejects Physical Contact During ‘Gay’ Performance on ‘Idol’

TV Replay takes a look back at American Idol’s Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips singing a duet together. The duo performed “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” by The Righteous Brothers. Phillips put his arm on Ledet in jest, although Ledet rejected the gesture.

      that was quite awkward!  Whether Joshua is gay or not is irrelevant; he should have the right to decide if he wants ANYONE to touch him.  Joshua is the real deal; he is the most talented singer in the history or any of the so-call REALITY talent contests!

    Question…how is it a “gay” performance if the song that was sung was done by TWO MEN, who weren’t gay by the way.  He doesn’t want to be touched and that’s his right.  But really is it necessary to categorize two men singing, a “gay performance”?  What about the women who sang together?  Are they lesbians for singing a duet? 
    Point…if they are gay who’s business is it to put it out there?  Yours?  Not hardly!

    They are too young to know but that song was sung by the Righteous
    Brothers to white men.  It was not a song sung to each other. The black guy who I think is gay is so afraid of being labeled gay because the public would not vote for a gay guy to win the whole thing. ie. Clay Aiken /Adam Lambert.

    It was silly, it was a joke. he should have went along with it for all of the 10 seconds that it would have lasted….   Im not gay and I have no issue with putting my arm around a dang dude… It was a joke

    Someone doth protest too much. He secretly likes the guy touching him but he doesn’t want people to know it which is why he overreacted. Gay people usually have the most anti-gay behaviour. The guy hugging him is clearly comfortable with his own sexuality but Joshua is not.

    I find it ironic that America has stigmatized Joshua Ledet as being gay!! I do believe that it is his right as a human to reject any gesture, touch, or advance that he deems to be uncomfortable! If he or Philip is gay that is strictly their business.  Now I would say that the move by Philip was to try to take him out of his element and to rattle him.  The most important thing is that he is not being judged on his sexuality, but on his talent.  Or should I say his gift because that is just what it is.  Any man can have a talent, but a gift is sent by God.  One thing for sure, regardless to what sexuality he chooses, I know he is a child of the Most High King!!  So with that being said, I stand boldly interceding on his behalf saying, “NO WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST YOU JOSHUA LEDET SHALL PROSPER!”  If the title of being the American Idol is his, then surely he will get it due to the fact that God makes provisions for his people!  I am a firm believer in saying that all things work together for the good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose!! Joshua Ledet, God has given you a purpose, so live it, breathe it, and walk in it.  Much Love to Joshua Ledet from your front door, Lake Charles, LA!!!
