Drum Major Jonathan Boyce said that he permitted victim Robert Champion to be hazed on a bus because Champion had begged for the opportunity. Boyce also claimed that he tried to intervene when he saw that Champion was overwhelmed with his beating. Boyce went on to say that he tended to Champion’s needs just after the hazing was done.
