Usher said that he “went against the grain” in grooming Justin Bieber outside of the system that companies such as Nickelodeon and Disney have in place for child stars. Further, he said that Bieber will have to “evolve or evaporate” in order to keep his audience for a sustainable period of time. He discussed his own method of continuing to stay ahead of his fanbase.
