Celebrities and film executives spoke on what the American Black Film Festival means to them. Among them were Brett Dismuke of One Village Entertainment, actress Vanessa Bell Calloway, directors Russ Parr, Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, and actors Christian Keyes, Boris Kodjoe, Michael Beach, and Eddie Griffin. The festival took place June 20-23, 2012 in Miami.
