Sway asked executive producer Mona Scott-Young whether she felt a responsibility to viewers to show a more balanced depiction of black women than current Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta content provides. Mona said that there are other programs people can watch if they don’t like the series. She also emphasized that the show is not scripted, as some viewers have assumed.
