Jordin Sparks spoke on the bittersweet nature of working with her idol, Whitney Houston, on Sparkle and losing her before the movie’s premiere. Sparks said that the original Sparkle was Houston’s favorite film, and that she always wanted to be involved in remaking it. Sparks also noted that Houston’s death might draw more people to see the film than normally would have attended.
