The death of Chavis Carter, a black man killed from a gunshot to the head in the back of a police vehicle, is under investigation. Jonesboro, Arkansas, police claim Carter’s death was a suicide, despite the fact that he was handcuffed behind his back. Police Chief Michael Yates said that it’s “easy” to free oneself from handcuffs.
